New band: Regi Hendrix Band (blood of Jimi Hendrix)

How is Regi related ? ... I knew his father and most of the family. A few were pretty good friends ....

It's his name .... why should he not use it ???
 
If my last name was Clapton I'd ride that train. Should I change it? As a matter of fact it would push me to be the best I could be. It'd be real tough.

Someone like Bonamassa gets beat down on forums. Could you imagine if your last name was Clapton? Holy s$&t!
 
I did not see Regi Hendrix played guitar ? I only see him credited for singing ....

Seeing it is his name I do not see it as anything strange. If his name was originally Johnson and changed it to Hendrix I would see that as bit strange. Everyone in entertainment sold out .... it pretty much is the definition of it ?
 
Really liked the first song! The other 2 were Regi trying to be Jimi IMHO. Jimi didn't try to be anything other than who he was. They are all done well, I just think the first song is more his own thing, and not so much standing in Jimi's shadow. Oh and, as always, great playing! :thumbsup:

He is a cousin. Don't know Regi's parents names ... I also know Regi had to prove his relation to Jane Hendrix, Jimi's sister. So Jimi's sister did not know Regi growing up.

I only met Jane once .... back in the 90's she was there when my band opened up for Robin Trower with several other family members. His brother Leon introduced my band that night. My friend Howard Leese of Heart came up and sat in on a few songs. It is my understanding that Jimi did not know Jane either, in his entire life he only talked to her twice. His Father Al lived near me in the late 80's. He was a regular at the Skyway Bowl that I lived across the street from and ate breakfast with him a few times there. Any time I ran into Al he was very good to me. I was good friends with one of Jimi's nephews and did not believe he was related till I saw him talking with Al. He had a bunch of Jimi's old cloths and stuff. It's a small world .....
