He sounds out of tune or something. Good playing and the song sounds interesting... but there's something weird going on, and the tone itself isn't that great. It's really a bad video to really demonstrate the pickup, IMO.
parts of his leads had verrrry little sustain. also, the acoustic track in the background needs to be turned down because it's sort of overpowering and is coloring the blackhawk's tone in an odd way.
the song, though, was pretty badass, that's for sure.
I'll go hands down bloody incredible originality and playing. Period. This is my kinda playing... My kinda style. Wow.
As for this being a demo for the BKP BH, I'll say this - the pup is apparently revered for its ability to maintain string/note distinction. What I'm hearing in this demo is less "out of tune" playing, than it is a multitude of timbres all in one song, probably all from the same guitar with said pups - proof - to the discerning listener, that there is indeed great clarity in these pups for string/note/tone isolation.
Overall, killer
Wish I had these in my FR-II instead of the MMs, just sayin'...
That guy fkn throws DOWN in my opinion... Seriously off the hook. I like the fact he totally lifts the floor, there's all these different styles being played and all coming together, but the fact I couldn't anticipate what the next phrase or passage was going to be kept me entertained for sure.
I think the tune rocks. He is pretty bad ass. I don't consider this a pickup demo, more like he just listed what he used. Sound wise it could be any one of a hundred different pickups. I dig the video though.
the playing is great and song is definitely going somewhere... just seems need some extra oomph in the tone IMO, definitely not wanting my post to be seen as slaggin on his playing though, hes hella better than me, lol
Thats Pedro Caparros López from Breed 77. Really good band, they play Metal with a Flamenco vibe hence the rather loud acoustic in the not-so background.
