I just posted the new bass gear I picked up in my other post. I was testing out the direct recording capabilities with the new head last night and ended up liking the clip enough to lay some vocals on it as well. It came out pretty cool. Some Game of Thrones Season8 Ep3 spoilers in it too, you've been warned. Enjoy

Badass!!!! Sounds great man! I just got a microphone and put vocals on a song for the first time in my life. Takes a little getting used to but figured what the hell, can't do instrumentals the rest of my life. LOL

Hell yeah, your screams were brutal.
Vocals fit in very nicely on the timing bro.
Keep it up!
I’m just getting my torpedo studio where I want my guitars, bout to buy Toontrack drum software, and hopefully I’ll get some clips rolling too.
Your an inspiration!

Cool song and sounded great! But I'm still in love with that song you did with the Dirty Shirley!

As a Reaper user as well, I'd love to hear any tips or tricks you have while recording. I'm learning a bit from experience but when I hear a great recording like that one, love getting some input.

Thanks dude! Yeah adding vocals is weird. I've done some in the past but tried to mask my voice with FX and stuff. Im just not crazy about the sound of voice lol. My first few mixes I was burying the vocals and decided to bring them up a bit. It is what it is ;)

Wow dude, right on and thanks! Can't wait to hear your clips with that 2notes Studio! It took me some time to get use to dialing in a sound with IRs especially with headphones on. Try not to get too lost into that IR black hole ;)

So when I first started I would just record everything at like 1am, mix real quick with headphones on and post then go to sleep. Nowadays I've been mixing with speakers the next morning but at low volume. Usually I set the master mix to mono and set all my track levels to my liking and put it back to stereo. I use to use the built in Reaper EQ for each track, just a little usually to thicken tracks if needed. Nowadays I use Waves OneSeries plugins (phatter, louder and brighter) on each track as an eq to bring up the volume to sit in the mix just right, or thicken it with phatter or and brighten them all up a little til they each stand out just a bit. For bass I've been using another Waves plugin called Bass Rider to keep the bass from being overpowering. Also for guitars I usually track 3- Left, Center and Right, this track I made the center track stereo with two different IRs sounded a little smoother than my normal mono center. I've been messing with this home recording thing for almost 4 years now and am finally pretty happy with everything which is why I moving towards vocals.... its a brave new world! ;)

Well done! I really like the mix, riffage, and vocals.

Thanks dude! I think I might need better monitors. Just listened to it in my car today on the way to work and the bass seemed way softer than it did at home. Oh well.
