I am just not digging the stock bridge pu in my Wolfgang.
Is there anything special I need to know about a replacement pickup for a Wolfgang? Will most pickups fit since the stock pu is directly mounted? Anybody have any suggestions for a new pu? I play mostly straight up rock.
Thanks

Man, I love that pickup. Cleans up great too.

it just seems too hot. lots of feedback issues, only with that guitar..

I just took mine out last night to put a Rio Grande BBQ in it. The BBQ's are pretty beefy with lower output (12.5 I think)...only problem was that I need to drill deeper because it has long legs and round off the corners to fit the hole. That's really not an issue but I also have a MCP Afwayu coming in a couple days that has short legs so I wanted to try that one first.

So basically in a few days I can tell you how these two pups will sound ;)

Thanks, I am trying to find a pu that I can just drop in without drilling and grinding.

Andy standard trem spaced Duncan or DiMarzio should be a drop in fit.

I have seen a few people talking about having to grind the mounting tabs and do some other small mods on SOME pu's to make them fit. I am not sure, that's why I am asking before I purchase..

Perfectly normal if you appreciate perfection

My oh my... :inlove:

I just went through this problem with one of my boobs... uh, guitars. I went to drop a Duncan in an LTD that I have and the ass didn't line up with those thingies swinging back an forth... Who is that chick? (focus!) The poles were off and I didn't trust it. I'm trying to find a pickup that fits my guitar like that lingerie fits her ass. Everything lines up perfectly.

I can't talk about guitar stuff anymore.

Way to derail a post! This guy has a genuine question about pickups and now all we can do is watch that ass go back an forth. Great job!

Right? Who cares about the pickup....Who is that girl, she is drop dead gorgeous.

I have been trying hard to stay away from his posts since he put her up. She makes me feel very aggressive. I had the same problem with my Wolfgang when I had it. I went with a boutique pickup maker and he had no problem rounding the corners and doing short legs. If you go with a mass produced pickup you will have to do it yourself. I went with a Genesis Mr. Browney. It wasn't high output. I remember I liked the pickup.

There. Now that that mystery is solved, we can get back to more pressing matters.

I think with them, pressing does matter. And as often as possible.
