I sold a few of my older cabs over the past couple of weeks and wanted now ones and well...

I could not make up my mind between the "Boger" or the "Friedman"...

They were both so delicious in their own ways so I caved and bought both.

They are rally nice.

Even though I'm a huge JVM fan, I got a Helios 100 coming in real soon now, I reached out to my peeps over the weekend and found one today that I can grab sooner that the one I already had on order, should not have to wait too long now.

I might go grab the new version of the BE 100 tomorrow too locally to try out as had my hands on it today for about 10 min.
I would like to spend more time with it at home see how it compares to the Friedman BE/HBE Marshall I had a back in 2011 which didn't really keep my attention for long.

In the mean time I will say the JVM 210 series is really and under rated amp... I have a 50 watt JVM incoming right now as well.

Nashville is great ;)

Excellent cab choices!

I like the green back & v30 combo.

The old vht cabs used to come this way back in the day.

very nice cabs

Your music room has inspired me to keep all my rigs set-up simultaneously instead of only pulling them out for gigs. Do you keep them covered with plastic to keep dust off of them?

Plastic? No not really... I just try not to beat up the 9k in carpet and wood flooring I just had put in my house with all that garbage.

My gear used to be in racks and road cases back in the day when I played out constantly.

Most, if not all of that gear is long gone and sold except for the very last of 4 brand new VHT cabs I picked up back in 2002-2003 in the picture. That cab is dead mint as the day I got from living in road cases and sounds godly!

It is from the good ol' glory days of VHT... Back then I got 4 new VHT cabs for $650 ea...

Man how times have changed!!!

The "Rack O' Brutality" on the right brought the Mosh constantly.

ENGL 570 preamp with VHT Power 2/90/2 and kick ass Mesa Racktifier.

In the current day of trendy way over priced Marshall clones that shit was PUNISHING !!!

Mine is coming in next week or the next. So, the Friedman cab is the bomb huh? Might look into one myself.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the BE. I'm bookmarking this thread just for that

I can tell you my thoughts now...

I had a mac daddy Friedman 1979 JMP 100 Head with all the best of the best mods 3 years ago... I didn't keep it all that long (2 weeks maybe) It was a nice amp and it liked passive pickups alot but hated EMG's.

I played an mint used BE/HBE head from a bunch of times at GC over a two moth period before they sold it... I think that it had just one toggle (didn't like it at all).

I just tried out the brand spanking new BE model with full clean channel 3-4 toggles in the front yesterday on a Friedman cab for a while.

It was a very nice amp but I was not blown away by it, especially when you consider the close to 4k price with tax :hys: :hys: :hys:

I was told I could to take it home for a couple days to try it with all my guitars etc. no strings attached.

I might grab it tomorrow after work and bring it home for a night or two to see if my thoughts change any.

Anyway after playing the BE I also tried a JVM 205H they had at the store and loved it to death as it sounded KILLER on the Friedman cab.

I made a call to my "Marshall guy" in Florida who gives me dealer cost plus a couple points with free shipping and bought a brand new 205H.

It's landing Friday I think... What can I say, I love the "JVM2' series.

I'm putting my $$$ on the Bogner Helios bus... got one coming in REAL soon.

Ah yes your mid 2000's rig! I remember those days. Back then the forums were heavily skewed towards brutal high gain channel switchers and rack rigs, good times.

Back then I was using Rectifiers, Uberschalls, and Mark IV primarily.

Nice new cab day, by the way...

I guess I'm a little OCD but I can't stand getting that layer of dust on all my crap after having it out for a few weeks.

I have been LOVING the Friedman cab speaker combo. It just rules.

The Bogner is all V-30... it is killer and has a bit bigger thing going on, but I love the Friedman cab a lot... very smooth sounding.

Thinking of grabbing a second one... lol

When I was buying/playing these cabs, the Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent was there and we were chatting about gear,. etc. and he said that he thought the Bogners and Friedman's were Mojo cabs...

I'm not a 100% sure either way, but I do love them a lot.

Peace

G.

i hear ya...
Sadly we don't have any Bogner or Freidman shops around (in Israel)... so i wouldn't know ;-)(though I bought a twin jet uberschall a couple of days ago)
i just bought a third cab for myself the other day, a Marshall 1960 AV (4xv3) after I looked at my options vs coins…

glad you like it, may be I switch 2 V30 in my marshall for GB!
How they configured? X or bottom tops?
