So we decided we would throw together our own version of Battery. Its sped up a wee bit and not quite as per the original....meh...see what you think!

If you like it, check out the rest of our stuff...its similar vein...

It's not so much that it's faster than that the drums are rushing, not dragging.

 
Fwiw, it is actually faster, cos the BPM is more. Maybe it sounds rushing...I'll have a word with my drum machine ;)
 
great playing dude-something does sound kinda off to me, but totally dig it.
 
Yes the drums do sound "rushed" to me as well... as a drummer and guitar player I notice that. The mix though, lots of digital distortion coming through there to my ear. (direct guitars?) Did you guys push the levels a tad too much while recording? Playing is good though, love that tune as well.

I'd work on the mix a little. Except for the intro and solos, the guitars are sitting beneath everything else. The vox are way out in front. You want them to be heard, but not to the exclusion of everything else. Just IMHO, of course.
 
Thanks for the comments guys, I'll revist,....so on the shopping is:
i. Drums too rushed
ii. Bring up Guitars slightly
iii. Bring down vox a little

Im going to bring down the overall mix too, yeah I do tend to give it a bit of welly with the overall volume, but I believe the digital artefacts are just cheap gear.... its a crunch box into a Joyo American pedal....lol....and I think I dimed the Crunch Box a little too much.
