Just got my cab from Brad yesterday, which is a new German build 412 front load with all V30's. It is one of the bunch from the Diezel booth at the NAMM show.
I am running my Herbert (all KT88's) in the stereo side of each cab, the new one with all V30's, and the one I've had loaded with an X of V30's and K100's. On the other stereo side of each cab I am running my rev F Dual recto with a pair of KT88's and a pair of KT66's. In the rack is a Furman, G major 2, Voodoo lab pedal switcher, Maxon OD9, and an NS-2 (for now anyway). On the floor is a ground control pro that controls the Herbert, G major, and pedal switcher. The Herbert has the G major 2 through it's FX loop and it's my "wet" sound. The Recto is getting guitar->OD->NS2->amp and is dry.
I'm really liking the pedal switcher because I can now get my Maxon boost in the rack instead of on the floor and can now control it from my ground control through MIDI. I never liked having to turn the boost on or off, depending on what type of tone I wanted. Now, I have a patch for clean, clean boosted, crunch, crunch boosted, lead boosted. All with one touch. I am not missing the -/+ switch on ch2 at all now, fellow Herbert owners will understand.
The only problem I've got, is that with the pedal switcher, it only allows me to A/B two amps, but not run them in stereo at the same time. I still have to use a separate A/B/Y pedal to do that. The problem with that is turning either amps on or off is still not MIDI controlled, which is not acceptable.
Thinking I might have to go with a GCX if I want full midi control. Any other ideas?
