(New) Doug Rappoport and the Landry G3 Amp - Killing it!

Great job, killer playing as usual. I have three of these Landry amps, two of which are the latest G3, and the tone and feel are absolutely amazing. They are the only amp out there that I would actually call a modern high gain plexi. They sound killer with old OR reissue greenbacks, old blackbacks, new or old creambacks, and they love Lynchbacks. V30's work too. In fact the eq and voicing is flexible enough that they handle just about any speaker type you throw at them. The cleans and reverb are every bit as good as the crunch and high gain modes. I can't recommend these amps enough. Tone for days. These are the only new production amps that hang with my 69 super trem for pure tone, but they have three times the gain and tons of features. WIN!

Can listen to Doug play all day. Just has the right feel to everything he does. Such a talent!!!

Doug is my favorite player right now. Just freakin' awesome. Bastard makes me want to buy that amp but I know I won't sound like that

I don't know why these amps can't seem to get a rise out of many people here.... always a small dedicated following, but that's as far as it goes.

I've owned 2, love em ... perfect for classic rock and 70s/80s metal.

I thought Rappoport was a Friedman endorser/player? I agree with the statement above. Nice to see some other amps besides Bogner and Friedman get the props on this board. I personally think these amps sound everybit as good as the higher price tagged amps mentioned daily on this forum.

Or perhaps better than some of the high priced ones mentioned, and more true to a killer Marshall.

Bill Landry is a great builder and a great guy! Since the discussion has brought up comparative references I'll say this; the G3, I would pick up over any Friedman because of its percussive bounce and vintage feel. I wouldn't say it's a better amp but I'd prefer it for the feel alone. The price difference is worth noting as well, because it's a fantastic sounding amp for the boutique price offered. The G3 will cover any Marshall tone a person would need. The clean channel is absolutely fantastic as well. It is a Fender style clean.
