I can’t wait for mine....I ordered it in red tolex. Everything sounds better in red

Man... Doug's playing would sell me on a Gorilla combo amp!
I'm certain the BE 100 Dlx is going to be amazing.

I'd love to do a shootout vid between the current gen BE-100 and the Deluxe

That is where my curiosity lies.

Honestly, I find the BE100 Deluxe is getting like the Bogner Ecstasy, too much buttons, too many options.
I like my BE100 as it is, with the added extra master for the HBE and a 3 position feedback loop selector. I don't need a full tone stack for the HBE and the clean channel is just fine, without 3 option switches a separate fat and sat switch. I like limited options and more focus on playing.

What exactly is this 3 position feedback loop? Is it like the negative feedback/Response feature?

On the original BE100, the negative feedback was tied to the 16 ohm output on the impedance selector, than to the output jack.
Later it was changed to the 4 ohm output which gives it a more open and trebly sound. I have asked my tech to install a 3 position switch, so I can select 16/4 or none. I think the new deluxe has something like this. Pretty powerful tone shaping, and the most noticeable on lower volume levels.

Sounds pretty cool. I bet that's what the Response switch is.

How would you describe
16:
4: More open, trebley
None:

I'm looking to mod my JJ100 and may ask for this option.

16: Smooth, you need to turn the master a bit more up, but has a really cool harmonic content. I fell in love with the BE100 with this
4: More open sounding, louder more presence and treble, cuts better in a dense mix.
None: I'm not using it a lot, it sound 3 times louder than the 4, open cutting unforgiving Marshall sound.

Negative feedback is like pasteurizing your sound. The more there is, the more it is making the amp work to squeeze sound out. So yeah, it smoothes it out (kinda)...a cathode follower is similar. Because there is (naturally in this type of circuit) more midrange, the midrange gets cancelled out and you get more lows and highs. Big negative feedback and big filtering are hallmarks of the "modern" sound.

However, you LOSE dynamics. Think of the difference between a VH4 at one end and a Trainwreck at the other. The VH4 gives you this "wall of sound" but the Trainwreck is incredible in the hands of a virtuoso. Less negative feedback means there is a much more subtle transition between clean and dirty. You get all the cool in between sounds - often in the same phrase.

Great description of how negative feedback impacts the sound and feel!

The new video Dave just posted says that the response knob works in relation to the thump switch, so maybe it has more to do with low end shaping ?

Hmmm...I thought the Frequency switch was in relation to Thump, but then again, i've not watched the video yet.
