Came in on Monday, haven't had the chance to 'really' play it!

Plugged it in my Ampeg VH140C to ensure everything works.

Didn't like what I heard from the EMG 81!

Only other guitar I own with actives is my Stealth with 81-7 in it!

Other guitars have passives (SD Invader, Quadrails)

Will tweak the Eq to see what I get.

Any suggestions from EMG 81 fanboys?
 
Good score man, have you thought about the 18v mod for the EMG's?

Have done some research on it, but would prefer to get feedback from users first!

Do you hear any noticeable difference?
 
When I preformed the 18v mod, I noticed more warmth, articulation and crunch, as well as a little more output.
