I'm digging this new tune from Elephant Sausage, I mean L'Enfant Sauvage. Kind of reminds me a little bit of something off From Mars to Sirius with its raw, organic vibe, but a little more refined in terms of composition and arrangement. I can't wait till this album drops!

I really like the intro riff and verses but a lot of the other stuff sounds like they're on autopilot. Dig these guys a lot and unfortunately because they are quite unique, when they repeat ideas or passages from older material it really stands out. I think it's because I hold them to a higher level and want to be surprised by a section or style I haven't heard before. Like after the break with bass slide I was waiting for something really cool to drop but the typical double bass plus tremolo picking was kind of a letdown. The production sounds great. Thanks for the link

Sounds great. But I do agree with skoora, they tend to go back to certain sounds quite a bit (the pick rake being one of them). They're certainly not the only band to do this, but it's just more noticeable with them for some reason.

Still, killer material, Mario Duplantier is an amazingly good drummer.

I agree with the above comments as well. Sounds great though.

Wonder what the rest of the album is gonna sound like

Well, I can't really blame an original sounding band for sounding like themselves...That just doesn't make sense in my mind.
Are you guys refering to the vertical pick scrap/harmonic on the 4th fret that Joe has always done? I saw a video of him showing how to do it years agao because no one knew how he did it. Then you started hearing it pop up on newer metal albums.

They are still a cut above most of the current metal acts IMO.
