More Diezel Hagen Demos...And a Herbert comparison!
Nice comparison of Hagen and Herbert back and forth. Hagen is defiantely different...And both sound great (in my opinion). Herbert sounds bigger in the low end, while the Hagen seems to have a more organically natural sounding "crunch" happening in the mids. As I commented earlier (as did several who actually played it), it seems like a nice cross-breed of what we all love about the VH4 (amazing articulate, tight, crisp top-end, versitile, Hi-Fi) with the Herbert (more traditionally voiced, ultra-thick, more satuation, brutal, amazing cleans). This might be a winner folks....Not that I would have expected anything less from Peter.

These videos drive me nuts, I have no idea what channels they are on, can't see any of the settings.... blah.

I will say, judging from the first two videos that have surfaced so far, I'm probably hanging on to my VH-4 :)

Imho Hagen and Herbert sound quite similar. But Herbert is more huge sounding because of it´s power.
Hagen is more open sounding and less compressed.
The VH4 sounds darker and heavier than Hagen.
THe Hagen got´s a fluffy, looser feeling. It´s very easy to play.
Imho Hagen is a masterpiece!

Don't know that I agree that the Herbert and Hagen sound all that similar to eac hother...

I can't stand the sound of 8 string guitars or guitars tuned down to f or g. They make all amps sound the same....like shit.

nice playing, nice vid! thanks for sharing!
but you used the FL K100 cab on the Hagen and the FL V30 on the Herbert or am i mistaken?

I agree, i hate guitars tuned that low and vid clips make them sound even worse, i wished the comparison clip was made with a 6 string and regular tuning to really hear how the amps should sound. the clip just sounds muddy to me and even though the guy is a good player he just doesnt do much for me with that guitar.

Agreed with all above. Please more clips in std tuning or even Eb std is OK too. Can't tell anything really about the midrange in an amp when tuning is so low. Guitar is a midrange instrument! ;)

Cant wait to make that raddest demo video of this amp when I get mine...miced up properly, high quality video and no talking. and no stupid low tuning either..
You and Ola oughta cut heads :rawk:

I'm hoping one comes down the pipe in white tolex, matched to my Bogner 4x12 RLV30 cab. See how it plays out. I was just in the middle of 'downsizing' and then this happens.

FAAAAAAAAAK!!!! :cheers2:

From the Clips that are available now i find the Herbert better to my liking, but ill def. try the Hagen out. In the end id love to eq the amp my self and play it with my own guitar.

Keep in mind that there are not many amps (and cabs) that can handle 8-string guitars.
If you like 6 string just watch other videos

There is a nice word on the dictionary:

broad-mindedness

Papa likes the Djent!?!
I bet he does. . . .

Broad-mindedness is a great word to have in your vocab. especially if your a guitar player. I use to be very narrow about what a guitar should sound like. It's a tool for all kinds of jobs. If those amps a make a 8-string sound that good it will def. smoke on a 6-string my friend.

Did you happen to see this video that has most styles of guitar?

Angelspade, thanks so much for the link.

The Hagen is definitely up there with the rest of the Diezel flagship amplifiers.
The guy got off to a messy start but he in due course began to put some clear licks together. It's too bad the video didn’t home in on exactly what channels were being played on Hagen.

The one thing for sure (for me that is in this comparison) is that Herbert is still the bomb – no question. The clean channel in Herbert is unmatched and unrivaled - from sparkling clean channel 1 to channel 3 relentless brutality, and everything in-between. There is just a unique magic to Herbert that really can only be described in a very large way. The tone all around is and always will be simply amazing.

And if you think about it (with all the bells and whistles) Herbert can be described as a 7 channel amp. With the (-/+) toggle on CH2 and the mid cut throughout between all three channels you get 7 distinct voicing.

All in all Hagen is definitely a winner for those that want a straight forward approach and a VH4 esthetic vibe.
