Been looking at the RR5 Pro's and X-Series Gus G. For about $800 are these complete garbage? Only Jacksons I ever owned were USA Select and one RR24 when they first released the "mistake" with bound neck and reverse shark fins.

I played one of the mahogany pros with an ebony board and it was nice. I was shocked how far the import stuff has come, and would have gotten one, but found a killer deal on an older rr24 with an o.g. Floyd.

Yeah I am ALWAYS on the lookout for the Black/Yellow RR24 like my old one with bound neck and reverse fins. I should never have sold it! LOL! Times were tough back then though.

I love the look of some of the newer import stuff, but so hard to pull the trigger on when you can get used USAs for even less sometimes. I find those Gus Gs really tempting myself.

Yeah I have seen some RR1's for about $1200. I think they are worth the extra $400 personally BUT finding one in that price range that isn't all chewed up on the headstock and wings is tough. There was an awesome Red RR1t with black bevels on GC Used that I should have grabbed.

I remember those. Hard as f$&k to find now.

Used USA Jacksons are priced absurdly low. (except for 7-strings which you can hardly find).

But I'd really like to try some of the Pro and X stuff.

Man - that black rhoads looks a lot like Randy's original except for the bridge, Jackson logo and truss rod cover. Pretty sweet...

My buddy has one and he will NOT sell it! Drives me nuts!

yeah I am not sure if I can bring myself to grab one without playing it first. If the V had a gold logo that's be cool!
