Not into the verse vocals, but I like the chorus.

The drummer sang them, and he is also the drummer for DARKANE.

Yeah, I've been listening to that track for the last couple of days and looking foward to picking up that album! I thought Elements of Persuasion was pretty good and expect the same or better with this release.

I like everything!
I like it a lot better than the latest DT releases :)

So agree...I like his last solo album with Marco better than anything DT has put out since Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.

I think the grim vocals sound great also. It suits the songs to a "T".

I wonder if marco is using the axe-fx for this hes a avid axe-fx user these days.

I agree that James' solo stuff is a lot better than the current DT stuff.

According to Marco, this album is almost entirely Axe-Fx.

The new James LaBrie record which I just recorded in Sweden...well it will have ALOT of Axe FX going. I brought the sessions with me as reference for the "real" recording and according to the engineer the quality was so good that we decided to keep all the leads and most of the layers. It will of course be part of my live rig as well. Never been this happy.

Here is what Marco said 2 days ago at JP-Forum about new album:

http://www.petrucciforum.com/forums/sho ... stcount=66
...Peter Wildoer is doing all the screams and drumming on Static Impulse, the Axe FX is featured only on layers, leads and cleans...the rhythm tone is an Engl Powerball and a Rectifier together.

If he came out with an instrumental album I'd listen to it, otherwise no.

Absolutely! I much prefer DT's material from the 90's (and 6DOIT also) to what they've done in the past 8 years. I actually look foward to JL's solo material....can't say that about DT anymore.

hes mad at something? love the music but no cookie monster crap please.

Can't stand the Cookie Monster screaming bullshit. Always dig JL's voice though. Marco is a monster as well.

I wish Labrie would branch out away from prog metal
would be cool to hear him in something unexpected

I really dug the last album. I was just listening to it about a week ago. Some killer stuff on there. Look forward to hearing the new stuff.
