Saw an ad and a demo for the 60 and 120 watt heads...Didn't sound bad. Anyone else going to check one out?

I was very interested. But then I found out they are made in China. Me and chinese amps just don't gel...especially when the IronHeart's price doesn't reflect it's a chinese amp

That's a deal killer for me too. Thanks for the heads up.

Priced similar to Blackstars, which are also Chinese...

Street Prices from their US Distributor:
Ironheart IRT60H $849.00
Ironheart IRT120H $999.00
Ironheart IRT60-212 $959.00
Ironheart IRT412 $499.00
Ironheart IRT212 $329.00

Someone who's an endorser said that these are assembled in the UK, but I'd take it with a grain of salt. Still interested in the 60watt head.

To be fair, the amp doesnt really interest me a whole lot, but the price doesnt seem to be unreasonable for what you get.

Considering 90% of household electrical products are made in China and the Far East dies it really matter? As long as QC is maintained then there is no difference IMO. Having recently had two Peavey 6505's with serious QC issues the country of origin is all psychological.
The Ironhearts parts are all UK made but the amps are assembled in China to ease manufacturing and international shipping costs. It's a great sounding amp and YouTube videos never do any amp real justice.
You have to feel the trouser flap of an amp to know what it's really like :)

I don't give a damn if my toaster and my coffee maker is made in china, I don't plug my guitar into them and they don't have to take the abuse of 40-70 or so shows a year. I don't gel with cheap labor amps, end of story. And if you think all the Ironheart parts are made in the UK, you don't know crap. Some parts are made in the UK. Lots are made in China. Cheap materials and even cheaper labor. You get what you pay for.

See, the thing that sticks with me is, I met Mike Soldano this summer, very nice guy, very forthcoming. I specifically asked him about Jet City amps, he said they sound close to the Hot rods, but not the same due to the transformers, he said the iron in China is not the same as it is here in the USA, and in his opinion that was the main reason the transformers aren't as good. Plus you factor in the slave labor involved etc. I'd rather buy a used Boogie, or hell even a used Laney... I bet a used Peavey xxx or JSX will get you approximately a similar tone as the Iron heart anyway.

Actually the Blackstar's are all made in Korea which from what I gather is a step up. I had a Blackstar Ht-100 and it was a fantastic amp. For these prices you can get a mind, used real dea Laney so I wouldn't bother with these personally.

I never said all and I do know crap.
Always nice to feel welcome lol

50-80 gigs a year since the 80's gigging with anything that works.
It's what ever makes you happy tone wise but that's not to say anything made in China or Korea is rubbish.
It's all personal preference at the end of the day.

PS Laney Toroidal transformers ARE UK made :)

Well that's cool. I'll wait six months or so when they going for 400-600 used.

Are Laney's even being distributed in the USA again? I don't see many Laney dealers around. They do have really poor resale value, so picking up one used is a great idea. The Laney Vh100R is one of the few amps I miss.

your iphone is made in china...I dont see anyone complaining about that...

Dear Forum Members,

I can understand that some people may have had bad experiences with gear made in China - I have too (a dodgy M-series Marshall amp. and a Jet-City). However, I can assure you that the Ironheart 60W head is an excellent amp. Construction is great (they've even used Ruby brand valves/tubes), and the all-important tone is exceptional .

I have tried every Blackstar there is and have not found one I got on with. Their tone is dark and "artificial". The only way I can explain this is to say that the tone does not sound like it is produced by genuine valve/tube circuitry. The Laney Ironheart is very different, however.

I'd recommend that you try an Ironheart!

Best regards,

Charlie.

Anyone buy one ? Any updates ?
As for the china talk fawk half the shit u use is made there the dam computer your on at lot of your recording gear circuitry in pedals.

So how's the amp?

The Amp seems to have a lot of cool features.

Input gain control so you can have really pristine cleans or adjust for single coils etc. or dirtier cleans.

Wattage control- dial way down for practice etc.

Tons of Gain and seems to be deep voiced and warm- I don't do Metal but the Amp sounds really good on the Jack Thamarrat Videos at the lower to medium levels of Gain- I'd like to hear more of it -some cool Engineering and versatility it seems -the more Plexi Sounding Laney sounds cool also

Ironheart Amp -Check out the cleans for about 10 seconds and then the really Crunchy smooth tones from the Amp- Take Guthrie Govan's Tone and warm it up and smooth it out a bit - kinda how I hear it- extremely good- using a Palmer Speaker Sim but those don't enhance the tone much.....to my ears this is some really singing Crunch and Great Playing also.
