In glorious cobalt! Last week, Gibson ain't on my radar. Now today what's this shit?

I noticed this the other day hanging high in the corner of Guitar Center. Today I went back.

They're having Guitar-A-Thon again but of course this guitar isn't part of that promotion, BUT I remembered I had a 15% or max $500 coupon from my emails... It worked!

I'll tell you what happened, that top and that finish, that's what happened. BEAUTIFUL PAUL. Huge congrats bro. A new Les Paul makes for a pretty sweet day and that puppy even more so with the pimp gold hardware and translucent knobs. Killer. I hope it gives you a lifetime of enjoyment. Enjoy in good health and may God grant you many years!!!

They had 2 Traditional Pros in the ocean blue color that just looks like faded cobalt and they are glorious faded like that BUT this I hope has better pickups maybe, better cutaway on the heel, and I can fade it myself!

I did play it in store along with 1 of the Trad Pros. The Trad Pros pickups sustain forever and I thought maybe that one had the mojo..MOJO... but then I switched back to the Modern, loved it, and left with that.

I also played a limited Gibson 335 in the coffee table finish and it rocked hard man. Plays great, sounds great. Didn't distract me too much from my main objective.

Thanks for the kind words! It's a very exciting day. The hardware is chrome finish minus the translucent knobs. The light is making it look gold. Or maybe it's the auto filter I used. It's tough to photograph this one.

HNGD!
Nothing like the feeling of opening the case and seeing and smelling the Nitro finish on a Gibson Les Paul.
I am more in to Vintage specs, but the Alnico V pickups scream with higher gain and the Chambered body makes it lightweight.
My Standard 50s Les Paul weighs 9lbs 12oz.
Congrats and enjoy!

Dear Penthouse,

I was extremely nervous about that meetup with my normally wonderful wife, but something was off aboutvher demeanor because I got a look and a feeling and a question. "Have you ever lived on a budget?"

I figured, here we go. No watersports or toen sucking for me tonight.

I'm up the creek.

I could've dropped a hairy shitapillar when she grabbed me by the waldo and pulls me toward our hammock. All the while whispering sweet nothings about the benefits of weighing all the pros and cons of any new purchase, especially the expensive ones.

I never realized financial talk could be a thing to be into but this lecture went on and on instead of her usual moaning and ooing and ahing. I lasted much longer than usual and we came, and came, together in waves!

Anyway, tune in for my next letter because I think she's convinced I need another new guitar!

Sincerely,
Motorboat

Mine is the Modern in Cobaltburst in the middle. Love the finish on the other 2 Trad Pro's in Ocean Water Perimeter. BUT I can't abide with pre faded. I have to buy the fully dyed model and fade it myself. We're not buying denim though are we?

I did like the Tradbuckers though. That's the reason I went back and replayed the 1 on the right. I couldn't stop thinking about that one. On replay though confirmed I made the right choice.

I've been eye-balling the SG Modern in the same color.. I like the idea of a thicker SG with the mahogany body/maple cap.
They say it's hybrid LP/SG.
