Just got my Marsha with fat and saturation switches. Unbelievable!! You know it's a great thing that we've got someone as talanted as Dave to make amps like this available to us. It's like a kid's first christmas when you play through the amp for the first time!!

Now I've got a question for Dave:

Would you mind sharing with us how you got started in the industry?

Well I always was a tinkerer took a lot of stuff apart as a kid. I moved from Detroit to california when I was 18 to pursue music. I started working for Andy Brauer Studio Rentals and things kind of snowballed from there. I started doing racks and pedal boards around 89 or 90 when Andy's guy left because I felt I could do it. A few years later I heard a modified Soldano preamp that Bruce Egnater had done and convinced him to go into a partnership with me on anew preamp. During my involvement with Bruce I learned everything I know about amps and then it was just doing it for years and seeking knowledge from every source available. Now none of this knowledge is any good with out the ears to back it up. Well there is the short version.

I didn't realize that you're from Detroit. it's nice to see another person from the 313 do well. Glad you're here Dave.

I knew it!! Another Michiganier here! :D
Glad to have you Dave.
You do some kick ass work as we are all seeing on this site.
Still saving the bucks to have you do up one of My Marshalls.
Its freezing rain here right now..........
I am sure you miss that dont you Dave?!?!

Dan in Michigan

Well I will tell you what I miss. A house for 50,000 to 150,000 instead of starting for 500,000 for half the house in a worse area. Dave

Grasshit and 16 mile road .... that is where I spent the 70's. Right by the Clinton river bridge.

I lived in San Diego for a year......
I know EXACTLY what you mean on the pricey homes out there.

I own a nice 3 bedroom here with an acre of land. 30X40 Pole barn and got it all for about $70,000 a couple years back. Ever come back to visit?
Gotta love the upnorth area near the lakes in the Summer. Cant be beat.

I was born and raised in Detroit!! Redford Township and moved around
to Ferndale. The big "D"

You damn Michigan guys (I'm from the Tri-cities, 360)! Dad still lives in Saginaw.

yeah i love the far northern parts of MI,especially around the UP...went on a "Ride Around Lake Michigan" motorcycle cruise with some friends, two summers ago,and man...what a great, scenic ride it was thru there.we stayed overnight in a small town called Petoskey,i believe, just south of the Mackinaw Bridge area.what a nice place.real friendly people too...good memories

Those women from the UP are the the most dangerous animal. Truly vicious. Desperate .... really dig their claws in. I feel safer with a badger in the back seat of my car. Do not make eye contact or turn your back on one.

  ......well being from Illinois(or anywhere BELOW the Makinaw Bridge as the saying goes),i'm considered a "troll" and would quickly end up dead-meat trying to "hook up" with one of those midwestern corn-fed mammas :scared: ........guess there's always "back-seat badger love" on those cold, lonely nights :D

You should be safe there .... most of them have never been that far south. They are a very elusive creature ..... just be careful trolls.

I was born and raised in the U.P. and just moved back here a little over a year ago. It's peaceful and scenic and everything, but I miss the city and having a music scene.

Oh and Stephen, you are dead on about the women up here!  Man, two of them pretty much ruined my entire teenage years and early twenties! Fucking psychotic bitches here for sure!

I have lived in Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, Green Bay, Escanaba and Gladstone a few times to name a few. I still have family in Menominee. Had family in Soo Saint Marie, Iron Mountain and Marquette.

Personally I am terrified of the women from the UP and I am not afraid of much.

I love it along Lake Huron area.
Great beach and beautiful area all around.

I remember in the 80's fishing Saginaw bay, Friday night all you can eat perch, and sledding on Ojibway Island. Funny small world for sure.
