Super cool looking amp. Sounds good too. Thanks for sharing.

I had one of the M1000 about 13 years ago.
Thing rocked. Was weird to dial in.
Like the knobs worked backwards.

Would love to play one, it sounds great in the presentation.

Great that he's building amps again. However, I would go for a fresh name, and look. People are going to associate it with the 80's, which we're no longer in. Many still chase those tones, but not the looks.

Sorry, but I don't see them flying off the shelves, especially at that price, hand-made or not.

Here's your amp before it was your amp. Note the ear plugs package on the top, right side.

:)

Ampeg VL, Metaltronix M1000, Lee Jackson XLS, Crate Stealth....all used the same Lee Jackson preamp design. The Ampegs had a plastic connector that eventually would melt and ruin the board/start on fire lol. Lee put out a DVD I think that explains to just remove the plastic and solder the wires directly. My old drummer has a VL and I would use it to practice when I didn't want to haul my rig. But after a few rehearsals I started bringing mine. That VL sounded like straight ass, no matter what settings I used. Lol. I did buy a Stealth and that amp was 10x better than the VL. It was 150 bucks.

This amp sounds way better than any of those previous amps....but for the price of a Wizard? Cmon man....

:dunno: I don't get how he's demoing the master volume like it's a new concept or something.

I had a bunch of his ampeg VL amps, loved it!
Good to see him back but at this price I’m not in

Have to be honest, doesn't sound that great to me. It could be any amp/modeler out there. And living in St.Louis, the word "metaltronix" or "Lee Jackson" don't really give me the rosiest of feelings. Most of those amps he designed went Chernobyl.

$700 amp in a $3700 aluminum head shell. Tone is in the aluminum.

lol, "I spent all this time between creations making sure this amp would be amazing"
Dude, it's been like 25+ years since you made anything!

He seems like a cool guy though... but that line was ridiculous

A couple of things...

1) There's no way in hell that amp should be priced at pushing $4500 for what you're getting. Needs to hit the street at about half of that.

2) At least half of those albums he mentioned as using his older amps...didn't actually use his amps.

I had 2 M1000's when they were first released that went up in smoke..
I had to keep a fire extinguisher next to them till I got rid of them
