Hi guys!

What do you think of the new mxr 10 band eq?

haven't tried it yet!

Is it very different from the original? it says to have a noise reduction system...

cheers!

Kind of curious about this too. Not for me but the other guitarist in my band is looking.

Can anyone confirm if the "voicing" is the exact same thing as the regular? I must say if it is the exact same EQ with noise reduction then it will be a winner. That it literally the only thing bad about the regular MXR is the added hiss.

Ooooo!!!! I can dig this! Betcha it's the same, just with less noise.

That would be cool if it reduces the noise. That was why I kicked it off my board, the noise made it seem cheap and just gave me the impression it was hurting more than it was helping. I also had a very old one, so I thought it could be broken as well.

It looks cool, but I doubt it will replace my Boss GE-10 EQ.

I just picked up this....

Nice! My mxr EQ is one of my fav pedals, and the extra noise has been my only complaint; if the new one addresses this, that would be awesome! I definitely prefer it to the Boss EQs. The new pedal looks a bit smaller which is cool, but what's with the inputs being switched to the the bottom? So weird after using the top for so many years, lol

This?

Isn't this just the KK unit without the tribal graphic?

Isn't it just the black one in a new silver box ?

No. It has noise reduction and an extra output. I think what some are wondering is.....is that the ONLY difference?

That's what I want to know anyway. I think it is but can't be sure.

My Decimator takes care of things but it would be cool to not need one.

Empress Para EQ is the ticket IMO. Nothing else touches it.

I like my Empress but its very spendy compared to this. They are different animals too. Only option is to have both

I have an empress para eq, and just picked up the new silver mxr 6 band, its badass and quiet. I'm experimenting using each before or in the loop of my diezel with outstanding results.

i had an mxr 10 band for about 5 years...and never used it lol....so i sold it lol

I love my mxr 10 band. But i noticed something between the kerry king and the regular one.

The KK seems to be darker and has a bit less bite, with similar settings. Even when compensating it is always a little less there, or aggressive.

Wondering if this has anything to do with the dual outputs?

The new one has dual outputs too, hope it is not the case.

Good to know

I guess just have to really A/B to know. I am not going to buy one but am curious.

Im currently using the 6 band and it meets my needs.

10 band for me is overkill.

Kind of the same here. It worked miracles on amps ive had but my Bogner is finicky and Idk. Sounds so good without the eq but good with as well. Almost gives too much of what isn't necessary. Keep going back and forth with it as an always on and a lead boost.

I can't get it to cut a frequency I don't like so I've considered ditching for one of those para eq mentioned but they're pricey.
