I just had the MCPs (Angel Dust bridge/2nd Degree BB neck) that I got last week installed in my Carvin Alder Bolt-T + (maple neck/ebony fingerboard). All I can say is that these are great pickups!!! These replaced a set of underwound Afwayu's and I like these much better since they have less bass, but still sound huge. Not as powerful as the Afwayu's. The AD has a very full sound with great mids and nice top end. I also had Holy Divers in this guitar before I would say these are much better for me.

Are there any duncans you could compare them to? There aren't as many clips of them around..

Good to hear. How would you say the AD is different from the HD?

The AD is has a similar feel to the HD, but it is much more clear, open, and focused through high gain and has more upper mids and is meaner!!! I had to play the guitar through the Engl and Bogner OS 2X12 to tell the difference since that is what I have been using for the past few years until I got the Cameron a month ago. The HD just seemed like it had too much bass and low mids that felt like it had a blanket on it using higher gain and kind of wimpy. I went with a slightly wound Afwayu and while it is an awesome pickup, it had too much bass for me. If it had less bass, it would of been perfect for me. The AD is the best of both worlds since it has pronounced low mids where the bass is not as strong but there is more high mids than the HD making it sound mean and a nice cutting top end that keeps things clear without the harshness. It is hard to explain pickups though. I have played though the AD on two Luxxtones though Friedman amps and the Cameron Atomica. They all sounded great but the Luxxtones are awesome themselves.

Well not really like any Duncan I tried except maybe an old JB.
