I had some extra time at the end of my vacation so I built a desk for my basement studio. It was a little cluttered so I just wanted to spread things out and make things clean and simple while creating a bit more space.

Here's a "before" and some "after" shots.

Looks cool, I wish I was that good with carpentry.

Very slick, Pete! Nice to see you still posting here, too.

Thanks gents. It turned out better than I thought I was capable of...but not as cool as I'd hoped.

Thanks man. I've been super busy with family. I stop in now and then, but don't often get time to post.

Looks great, wish I had space for all that! What is your setup?

Nicely done!

Do you cover it when not in use to keep dust and what not out of things?

Nice recess job on components.

Impressive.

Looks great. I currently have the same desk as in your " before" picture and I am looking at moving to a Presonus StudioLive front end and I would really like to do something with countersinking the console into the desk like you did.

Both your new and old setup make mine look like crap. Pretty sweet setup, you should be proud.

I don't cover it as often as I should. Lots of dust down there due to the cat's shitter about 15 feet from my workstation. I actually built a temporary/stage wall to keep the little bastard out of my area...he kept urinating all over everything.

I really like the studiolive stuff. I thought about it, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to figure it out.  I liked that RTA "creation station" when I had a single spaced rack interface. Once I got the onyx mixer and the MCU I needed more space.

Firefly fan? Love the Serenity mug... right next to the Rig Talk mug

Yes, I'm a Firefly fan. I have a song called "chased by reavers" on my last disc.
