New Releases - El Toro and the Preamp Pedal

Hmm...the El Toro looks very similar, feature-wise, to the M60...other than maybe a programable fx loop?

yeah there are similarities, cosmetically and tonally i am told there are some distinct differences. Also there is the addition of the midi stuff on board. I am not sure but I believe them to be RJM designed and built.

Hey guys,

the Frankfurter Musikmesse 2010 just started and we are helping out at the Ruokangas and Elmwood booths.

The El Torro is sounding slightly different than the Modena. You still feel and hear it´s an Elmwood, the character is quite similar. The Torro can be a little bit nastier than the M60 if needed + it´s very chunky and percussive. Sorry, it´s hard to describe sound in a foreign language ... Anyway, it´s sounding like this ->

It´s midi-equipped and has a tube-buffered effects-loop which is switchable from serial to parallel.

All the people that have checked the amp so far are completely blown away by it - including myself!

The new pedal also is amazing. "vintage elmwood in a box". lots of gain and a nice clean boost.

guys I can tell you... this pedal is amazing. when you use the clean-boost channel it even adds something to the gain + boost channel with gain cranked up full. the overdrive channel is sounding "vintage elmwood" - just great!

Any news on a 90watt version of El Toro...or at least integrating the new switching and loop features into the Modenas?

I would imagine we would see the 90 watt sometime this summer.

I have a few questions. 1st- How much are the new amps gonna cost? 2nd- What is the realistic time frame to get one delivered? 3rd- can a guy get one of those amps covered in something different on the ehadshells and the front baffle boards ? No offense but I ain't diggin those textures on either the tolex on the headshell or especially the grill cloth on the front facial board. Let me know.

Price - dunno

Time frame - better question! Still don't know, these are only prototypes. I would say mid/late may - june

Cosmetics - Can probably get the old school cosmetics but el toro chassis, no promises, but its a maybe.
