I hate to do it, but I have to agree with you on this, been a huge fan for almost 30 years, own almost every album he’s ever been on. It’s not good.

Just listened to it. The main rhythm is too busy. I can't find the groove that I like to hear from him.

Had the same type of thought yesterday listening to some current math rock / djent something or other on XM yesterday. There was no heart or groove to any of tunes that I heard. I tried to rationalize my thoughts but nope. I don't get it.

Yeah, sucks ballz. The guy has all the tools and then some and I guess he fell victim to the Yngwie Malmsteen produce this myself-itis. It is way too busy, doesn't cut, uninspiring tone and I might guess he drummed on the track because the drums are all over the place and none of the rythm instruments are driving the well.... ,rythm. Drums and bass do your job instead of fucking around. Big fail for me.

I'll say the same thing I said in the other thread...awesome guitar and bass playing (no shock there coming from him) but the song has no groove at all, the drums sound terrible and the production sounds like someone just got their first Pro Tools setup. It almost sounds like he got into Tool or something, and tried to make something like that? I don't think videos have to be expensive to be good but just staring into the camera, mouthing the lyrics and THEN making it a lyric video...terrible. Also, the lyrics themselves are just horrible. Rhyming "pinocchio and pinot grigio".....
