I posted a few weeks ago that my 2005 Schecter C1-Classic has had intonation problems from day 1.
I could never get it in perfect intonated tune, but it tunes just fine and plays great with great tone.

Contacted Schecter and they said something must be wrong with how it was built.
They said to send it in so they could look at it, and if it's a manufacturing error they would replace it with a new C1-Classic reissue.

Their tech said there is something wrong and labeled it a "3rd - unplayable" condition.
They ARE sending me a brand new reissue C1-Classic!
Schecter made good on their offer.
So I had to write this update, because, when a company really stands by their warranty and gives actual real customer service, then they deserve to be complimented.

So often forums are full of negatives and bad customer service experiences, but this time the service was awesome and exemplary.
Can't wait to try out the new one.
I just bought a new 2014 ESP E-II Eclipse, and it will be joined by a new guitar. 2 new additions to the family. Welcome home.
Kudo's to Schecter!
ROCK ON!

Nice! I have a C-1 classic that is one of my more solid guitars as far as tuning and playability. Holds up well to my LP and Fenders. Glad to hear their customer service came through for you.

Great to hear!

I really like mine too. Good overall quality and mine stays in tune wonderfully. I DID however upgrade the pups from those Duncan Designed HBs to a Duncan Custom Custom and '59 :D

Plus I got mine new at a price that is too low to print.

That's a nice flame top.
What model is that?
Black Jack? Hellraiser?

The C1-Classic comes with actual Duncan JB and Jazz, not just "designed by"
The pup's are pretty sweet. It's a classic combo, pun notwithstanding. :)

The C-1 Classic is a great guitar.

It really is.
Compared to my new ESP the only think lacking in the C1 is the volume pot, and the satin gold hardware isn't that durable.
The pup wiring is really cool too as it has 2 different tapped single coil tones, along with the classic fullness of humbuckers.

The neck through design adds a nice hum and sustain.
Great playing guitar and great tone too.

The reissue is a bit different cosmetically. The vine neck inlay is now green/blue abalone, my original 2005 was pearly.
And, the reissue has a black back, the original had the same stain as the top and let the wood grain come through.
Schecter should not have done that cause a nicely stained mahogany should be seen not painted over.

I hope to get it soon. :)

This is my Schecter unsung hero. I changed the bridge to an MCP Afwayu but really the Schecter pickups in this guitar are pretty fantastic:

Here's my 2013 Schecter Hellraiser C1! This thing is a beast to play. I love it! Happy to hear Schecter took care of you. That's great news!

My 2005 has the green and blue abalone. The back is the trans-blue finish though.

It is a C1+

Here is a better pic of the flame with the original buckers in their chrome covers. I'm thinking of putting them in the GAB Pick Up Trading thread because I'm not using them :)

I want to post an update about my replacement Schecter C1 Classic.
I GOT IT!

It came in about 2 weeks ago just like the guy at Schecter said it would.
They were out of stock and on back order, seems they've been selling very well.
When the new batch came in he pulled one and had one of their tech's in Cali set it up and shipped it out to me.
Of course I have a hard shell Schecter case for it, so they put the new C1 in there and sent it to me.
AND, I didn't have to pay for return shipping!
How cool is that.
Some places make you pay shipping both ways for warranty issues and repairs.
I only had to pay to ship it to them, under $30.

My original C1 played great and had great tone, but tuning of course was a problem due to the intonation issue
I was worried the new one wouldn't be as nice.
No need to have worried, this baby is awesome. It plays like buttah.
I think it even sounds better. Maybe Schecter upgraded some electronics cause the JB and Jazz pup's sound really tight and clear, and it sustains beautifully. The volume and tone pots seem more responsive than before.
Intonation is perfect. Action was set very nicely, but I tried to lower it even more and it took to it with no problem.
I can't get my new ESP E-II Eclipse to have this kind of action without buzzing.
Looking down the neck the fret work is just beautiful, all in line and straight. On the ESP, not so much. I think my ESP has a high 14th or 15th fret, which I need to get worked on.

I'm really enjoying playing this beauty. Sometimes you get a guitar that plays and sounds like it was made for you, and this C1 is like that for me. I've been playing it more than my ESP. :)
The other thing that's cool about the C1 is that it's a 25.5" scale, so tuning down a whole step even a step and half doesn't phase it at all and the slinky feel of the strings is really fun to play.

The C1 Classic reissue now uses abalone for the vine inlays in the fret board. My original had cream pearl inlay.
The abalone looks really cool. It's a bit ornate but so what. Construction and finish are flawless and It plays and sounds fantastic.

Thanks again Schecter! You stepped up and hit one out of the ballpark for me. :)

CORRECTION:
The back is NOT black. It's just a darker brown stain than before, but it does let the wood grain come through.

I hope to get it soon. :)

Must be a difference due to the body color.
The blue one was/is very cool too.
