New Slash amp gut/chassis shot

I think if people look at this to duplicate the AFD tone they will be disappointed. If they just look at it like another slash signature amp/modded Marshall, I think it will go over better.

Marshall did use FR4 PCBs and they look to be double sided which is good. Still I would prefer chassis mounted tubes and not to have PCB mounted pots. This is just the way Marshall builds amps now, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

And I have yet to find any piece of gear or car that is perfect. Some are better than others, but all have flaws. On the forums people tend to oversimplify that something is either awesome or bad. I try to point out the good and bad points of the gear when posting my thoughts.

This thread took a turn for the retarded.

Nobody here has a problem with it being pcb based. No-one I think would have expected a hand wired amp. But for a maintenance and road-worthiness perspective I would like to see pots and tubes separated from the pcb..

Honestly, do you actually think the market for this amp is for road touring pros? It's a bedroom amp marketed towards Slash fanbois, that's all. The only signature amp that I can think off that dominated a big portion of the real touring world is the Peavey 5150.

Those amps will get more cloth baby diaper action than infants.
