He's getting a new Marshall, a new Les Paul, and new pickups.

Hasn't he pretty much used the same thing forever?

2555, Les Paul Standard, Alnico Pro II.

Didn't he just recently have a sig LP???

I have his sig Gold top,it's a decent Les Paul, but it has weight relief which doesn't sound
all that great.Kinda hollow sounding.

Evan (from Duncan) was saying it is a slightly hotter version of the AII Pros.

What I think is hilarious is that this new sig LP is supposed to be based on one of Slash's '59 copies. I wonder if it will cost more than the current market price for a Max or Derrig?

Will Gibson sue itself for making copies of the copy?

To me...........Slash's best tone is the DONT DAMN ME tone from Use your illusion....
that riff just kills............

Slash had a JCM800 with 6550s when he was recording AFD back then.. but he only used it for certain CLEAN things on that record. His main amp on AFD was a Frank Levi modded head, not Tim Caswell.
That same JCM800 amp head was modded then (in 1989 I suppose) by a guy named Mike Morin and it becames a JCM800 hotrodded with 6550 in it... it's loaded with a pair of cabs with greenback's and a particoular attenuator...
From that moment Slash started using it for lots of his collaborations..
That's what he used for both those albums and on The Spaghetti Incident.. you also can hear it on Iggy Pop's Brick By Brick, on Michael Jackson's Dangerous and so on...

he was using jubilees live very soon after recording AFD wasnt he?

I thought that I was the only person that loves that tune! A touch high endy for me but the grind is killer. Nice call.

I like his tone/riff on Locomotive.

Very curious about that new amp. Staying tuned. I love my 2553, but I would love one without some of the channel switching quirks....

Well maybe with Slash's ears, Marshall could build a good sounding amp. I haven't really bonded with anothing that they've released since I had my 2550. Something based on the JCM800 or 2550 circuit, and not the 2000 seires would be nice. A good effects loop would be nice as well.
