Hey guys, I did a whole bunch of speaker swaps lately and thought I’d share my thoughts:

First, I had a cross of V30/H75 creambacks in my Kerry Wright 4x12 and replaced the H75’s with Jensen Electric Lightning’s. The Jensen’s in comparison have way nicer clean tones, way more lush and warm. When overdriven they have a deeper bass, more growl, warmth and richness especially in the low mids and also feel better to play for leads and single notes. They sound much more balanced with the V30’s. The H75’s were too bright and hard sounding with the V30’s, yet also too smooth or lacking that throaty growl I go for. The H75’s were though more open and defined, but overall I still much prefer these Jensen Electric Lightning’s paired with the V30’s. It’s such a perfect combo, maybe my favorite I’ve heard so far!

In my Friedman 2-12/2-15 I replaced the H30’s with Jensen C12N’s. I think these have potential to be an excellent pair with other speakers, but I don’t like them in this cab as much as I did with the stock H30’s. The H30’s had much nicer, more lush cleans. When overdriven, the H30’s sounded bigger, tighter, more defined and better balanced with the Fullback 15’s in the bottom. The C12N’s are way brighter. I do love though the upper mid grind they have and both these Jensen’s (C12N and Electric Lightning’s) seem to add an American flavor to the cabs almost like a fender tweed, which I think is cool. Likewise the Fane’s I put in my Uberkab almost put a hint of Hiwatt flavor into that cab. I think I’ll try next in here the H75’s since I heard others had great results with them in this cab and they should be like a higher powered H30. I can see the C12N’s working well with the Electric Lightning’s. It seems like they need the right speaker or cab to complement them, but I see potential since they have an awesome upper mid thing going on.

Finally in my Bogner Uberkab I had a cross of V30/T75’s and replaced the T75’s with Fane F90’s. Overall, it actually still sounds pretty similar, but still better than before. It sounds a bit clearer and more open. The cleans are a little nicer and more bell like. For high gain, it’s similar in bass and tightness, but has more upper mids and the treble seems smoother/less hairy/fizzy, which a lot of guys complain about the T75’s. I guess the Uberkab really has its own sound since it surprisingly sounds very similar still with the new Fanes in it. My Uberkab is by far the heaviest, most brutal sounding of my 3 cabs. The way those extreme lows hit you with it is insane, but it’s also the darkest, most scooped and compressed of my 3 cabs, but does what it does super well!

Anyway, I think all 3 of these speakers are worth checking out if used appropriately

I run a 75w WGS G12C (which is a Jensen C12N copy) with a Celestion G12T-75 and they are two of the most unbelievable speaker pairings I've ever heard.

The G12C mops the floor with the V30 when paired with a G12T-75.
