Just checked out some videos on youtube from Kings X current Euro Tour. Ty's Rig sounds pretty Awesome and looks really neat! He seems to be using an AXE-FX Ultra with 2 Engl Poweramps into Marshall 4x12s. Sounds Killer but i'm surprised not to see any Egnater Tube Amps in sight. I'm yet to try an AXE-FX but they seem very convenient and user friendly.

Correct me if ive got anything wrong but from what i could make out that was all that was on stage.

I missed Kings X on there UK dates last week and wish i'd got to hear that rig up close.

Quick easy rig assembled in Europe more than likely. He took his eganter pre amp and guitar on the last tour. So make me think he took his axe and his guitar!

This is probably right. It'd be a hassle, not to mention expensive, to carry your rig overseas. A lot of professionals have one rig state side and another across the pond.

In the interview with him he said he just recorded a whole album with only using the Axe Ultra. :D

i setup a show for them and they're playing here in about 2 weeks time , (i work as a promoter)

i'll be able to have a close look and will be asking questions inevitably, can't wait

if i see him using an axe fx it might just be the tip over the cliff lol

He had a Line 6 delay on the floor too and a couple of other pedals, Axe FX was for the Euro dates, like you say cheaper to ship etc ;)

He sounds good thru anything, even a K-mart Blue light special.

Last I heard he was running a 5150III just behind the Egnator cabs (at least he was 6 months ago). You can catch a glimps of it in this video at about 3:40. He is a gear whore so I'm sure he changes rigs daily. :D

I believe the 5150 III was Wolf's of Accept.

It's either that or Ty's back-up (since it shows up in many of King's X's vids on youtube from this time period, but it is rarely turned on). Someone over at TGP stated it was what Ty was using at the last Illinois show in October. I think that you are right and it is most likely Wolfs.

I agree - that's what he (Wolf) was using when I saw KX/Accept in Cleveland. Not that the 5150 3 is a bad amp at all (I had one for a little while) it just seems too "simple" for Ty
