New VH4 Made The Same?

I used to have a VH4 around 2005 and kick myself all the time for selling it. I'm looking at buying another and noticed Diezel states that they are made the same as they were back in 1992. I know some artists and people in general look for certain years and the resale market is pretty good. If the 2018 model sounds the same as my 2005 or any older model it makes sense to buy a new one with new circuitry. Any reason to buy an older model if cost is not a consideration?
 
I think a different set of tubes is being used in the past recent years - KT77. Yours may have used something else.
 
I think there were minor changes in 2007 or so. A bit less compression and a bit more hi end. Peter is the one to know... :D
 
When I got my 2001 model, Peter advised me to clip a certain resistor from the board.
