Just got this delivered a little bit ago. My rig situation is totally shit right now. I have my gear in a shed with a bunch of other stuff. No insulation or power. Had to run an extension cord from my solar battery pack to power the amp. Oh, and it’s 40 degrees in there. lol!
My phone tripod is packed in a container somewhere in here. For now all I’ve got is a iPhone sitting near the amp.
I didn’t have it very loud, but when I turned it up briefly it sounded better for sure. And I guess most importantly it sounded like a VTM. I used the same gain and eq settings as my amp but I did alter the dipswitch settings a little.
On the amp I usually use only the Gain 1 dipswitch. On the pedal the gain 1 dipswitch added a kinda weird low end almost subtle octafuzz thing. Not sure what’s going on with that. So I used the Gain 2 dipswitch and like the amp it adds a little brighter gain boost.
I also turned on the Low 1 dipswitch to add a little warmth to the tone.
So with those settings and going into my Peavey Classic Series 60 watt tube power amp it does sound like my VTM head.
In the video I turn on a Boss SD-1 not too long in and the turn it off near the end.
I’ll make more clips and comparisons with different boosts once I get my cabin finished.
