I've been lusting after this guitar for quite some time. I've never really actively looked for customs, as the price tag on them is just so high, and my mind could never really justify it when I was so happy with the other LP's in my stable.

May of this year, I stumbled upon a killer deal on a 2005 LPC in Ebony with Gold Hardware. The guitar felt right, the timing was good, and the price was great. Pulled the trigger and haven't looked back.

Believe it or not, that was my first custom. I got my 6th today. (Yup, crazy)

I always told myself if I ever got a custom, it would be a silverburst. I picked up a couple Agiles in the finish in my poorer days, but they didn't quite scratch the itch. I happened to be browsing eBay earlier this week, just to see what was out there. I saw this Custom up for $2800 or best offer. I shot a low offer (as I usually do, just to see what happens). 2 Hours later my phone goes off. The seller accepted my offer.

She showed up today. Couldn't help but stop what I was doing at work to pull it out of the case and admire with a couple fellow guitarist co workers. Immaculate workmanship on this one. I can't find a flaw. Only 2 tiny dents in the finish, both on the sides of the guitar, fine by me. The seller replaced the Original 490/498 with Dimarzio Joe/Mo Joe PAF's and put some nice open gear tuners on it, but included all the original items.

This guitar sings, acoustically. Loud and resonant. The guitar feels alive in your hands. Action is a tad high, but easily corrected. I'm itching to get home and plug it in, play it next to the other LP's and see how it stands. I have a great feeling though.

Nice. I love customs. This is the only other color i would get besides my blue flame custom custom.

Congrats man.

Thank you all for the kind words!

I've spent the whole weekend with the guitar and I can honestly say, this has replaced my 2002 R8 as my new number one. Totally in love with the feel and sound. The guitar's lighter weight is a huge bonus as well.

I didn't know how I'd feel about the Dimarzio Joe and MoJoe pickups, but I'm really really digging them, and I'm a thrash metal guy. They just sound great. Lots of push, clear and tight, twnagy upper mids. I dig.

Here's a little track I did for fun, took a live demo of a song my band is working on and replaced my guitar track from the live session with a new track panned hard right with the silverburst and my 2203x

Ah, love Silverbursts! Wish I wouldn't have just traded mine. Need to find another.

That clip sounds great dude! Awesome score on the silverburst, I love that finish!

Did you record that clip with the DiMarzios or reinstall the Gibby's?

Thank you!

I left the dimarzios in. I'm actually digging the hell out of them. Really like the clarity, chime and pronounced upper mids. I just need to find covers for them.
