I finally located one and bought the SOB. Ordinarily I am not one to go after "signature" guitars, but this one has been an obsession...transparent red with an OFR.

No shit. I had to trade in the Koa Mock that I had (and took it in the ass for that) but I realized that I literally grew up with guitars that had Floyds, so what the hell? It SOOOO suits me better than the other one and its really the one I wanted in the first place. God, I love this guitar. It was built in February of 2009 and never saw the inside of a music store.

Did you get it from a store? Just curious because I can't sem to find any custom shop dealers anymore. Looks great! How does it play?

good god that's a lot of little switches!

bet it sounds and plays great. congrats

I got it from "Exton Music" in PA. They are an authorized BCR dealer, but the guy who owns the store apparently doesn't sell custom shop BCRs online (only imports maybe), but does take orders or maybe buys some himself to sell locally. There is a thread on the BC Rich players forum...this fellow is "Wildstar" and he's really cool.

As far as custom shop dealers, the ones I know are "The Music Zoo" and "Beatstreetmusic" or whatever. I got that Koa bird from Music Zoo and the other place never responded to my inquiries about ordering an SL.

I have found the whole BC Rich dealer thing to be rather strange, like there is some secret about them and you have to "know someone" to get one.

Aside from that, the guitar plays very well and is pretty much exactly like the Koa Mock except for the mahogany body, maple top and Floyd. I haven't found a flaw at all so far.

Good God.....anyone could look cool playing that! NICE score.

Not my type of guitar, but that sure looks nice! Congrats!

That's a sweet guitar....some of their newer imports actually look quite nice compared to their older import stuff which was complete garbage IMO:

That Mock is gorgeous !! Out of curiosity, how much does it weight ?? Mine (custom shop deluxe from 97) is a hefty 10.6 lbs. It hurts my shoulder if I wear it more than 2 hours but I haven't found a better guitar for metal yet, and believe me I tried a lot !!

Thanks.

I don't really have anything but a bathroom-type scale, but on that it seems to come in (as best I can tell) around 8 lbs. or so. Surprisingly, its not as heavy as it may seem, and Les Pauls I've had in the past were all heavier.
