NGD - (Belated) PRS Stripped '58

Got it last Thursday. I didn't have high hopes for the pickups, (even though they are the highly coveted '57/08's), but I was pleasantly surprised! They are somewhat lower output, (8.5k), but they have great clarity and very open and airy. Harmonically rich, and very musical. I've got a set of Duncans for good measure, (Custom & '59), but I'll leave the stocks in for now! Plays beautifully, and I'll let the pics speak for themselves!

Looks great! And good on you for leaving the stock pickups for a bit.

Nothing makes me cringe more than when guys pull pickups before ever actually hearing a guitar. I know a guy who used to put Duncan Distortions in everything before he would even play it.

10 years later, he doesn't even play DD's anymore.

The 57/08's sound DAMN good! Its actually a nice change of pace. I grew tired of EMG 81's, honestly, and still prefer passive. These don't quite have the crunch, but an OD cures that.
