Hello everybody! I'm new on the forum. I love charvels, I always wished to have one, but never had the money. I saw the Demartini customs in the sam ash in nyc. Those were the first I put my hands on a few years ago. I already knew charvels from seeing them being played by the rockstars, but I was so amazed at seeing them for real.
Then, the pro mods came to shops in my town, and I tried some, but wasn't too impressed by the finishes available and the super white aspect of the necks contrasting with the black hardware. They were close, but no cigar.
Then I stumbled across this one at a shop, like two years later, and It was love at first sight. This finish is the first one that looked super old school to me, and the best looking charvel I've seen in person . There was another one at the shop, a red socal, that had a great neck, but I figured that it was just the set up that was better. And the blue one souded the best.
The frets were more bevelled on the edges too on the socal, mine is less, but the fretwork is very good. It has a neck that is very welcoming. The more you play it, the less you can stop, its addictive, its wide and the rounded kind of thin.
I modded mine a bit, by putting a 36th paf and a super 3 from dimarzio. both creme, with creme rings. Its soooo beautiful, I can't believe it's mine. If I would order a custom one, it would be just like this one, but maybe with a matching headstock
