Its pretty sweet right out of the box for a fun bit of noodling. I'll slap on some new strings and set it up for d standard / drop c this weekend. I already have a golden axe with the lace nitro hemis and I put a set of dissonant aggressors in a japanese les paul I have and these hammer claws have reinforced my high opinion on the lace pickups. I typically play Alnico II pros which are mid output and these hammer claws have a more vintagey tone like the AIIPs but with more output, I dig them quite a bit.

The neck on this thing is very comfortable. With the guitar being a little neck heavy, have a bigger neck to grip onto and rip in to makes for a really fun playing guitar.

Great looking axe! And the Bogner as well, I haven't seen one with a chrome face plate.

Ecstasy Classic.

Congrats, I agree the lace pickups are really sweet, perfect for metal without sounding too generic.

Thinking about getting one of these, how's Epiphone build quality? Frets, binding, finish, etc...

I'd say it's very good on these. I think the finish is a little overly glossy an thick on the clear but I don't see any noticeable defects. The frets are nice, no sharp ends, no buzzing once set up. Certainly needed a set up out of the box but that's standard for nearly every guitar I have ever bought.

Yeah man I played one at a Sam Ash. Those pickups sounded great through a 5150 III. Just needed a good setup. I can't play a V shape. Great guitar though.

I put a set of hammerclaws in one of my teles, they are incredible pups. I REEEEEALLY want one of these guitars, gorgeous. HNGD
