Picked this up last week, having had a white SoCal in the past and not getting on with it i was very pleasantly suprised with this one.

The Ebony board is killer, i'd forgotten how nice it feels, the neck is near perfect, and the hardtail is way more down my alley than a Floyd.

The previous owner had swapped out the JB for a Custom 5 and first impressions are good, it sounds full and thick with my 5153, it's staying for now. In the neck it has a mini Screamin Demon which again i thought would be super hot but it's actually quite single coil sounding, has a nice stratty edge with gain - i'll leave it for a while and maybe go back to a normal SC at some point.

Very nice! I love that finish.

Yeah, if the mini Screamin´Demon is anything like the full-size version it´s not high-output and has a fairly scooped sound with a lot of treble bite. Even in the bridge position it has a nice clean tone if you roll off the volume a hair, and to my ears that is quite rare when talking humbuckers.

HNGD man.....I friggin LOVE this finish; every time someone posts one of these I go a little nuts.
 
It is really superb!! I love the matching heastock on this one, and that little cream switch is a nice touch.
