So it finally arrived earlier this morning! It's almost mint condition and I got it for about 540 euros! The neck is really amazing and it reminds me that of my USA Kramer Pacer Special 1983. The fretboard is really nice, though it might need a bit cleaning and the guitar plays like butter! It came with really low action but no fret buzz and in perfect tuning! It's really bright and I don't really like that... Maybe I will have to change the Seymour DuncanFull Shred SH-10B, but we shall see! It's hot enough but I prefer my Kramer's Di Marzio Breed. I'll be posting some AB clips Charvel vs Kramer. I didn't have enough time to record sth good but anyway here's a short clip using my mark III + Suhr LoadBox + Two Notes + 2x12 Bogner Ubercab.

Any bridge pickups suggestions? Hot but not that bright! Or maybe I should install a 250 pot!

A 250k pot would be the cheapest investment.

I have rediscovered my crunch lab recently and freaking love it.

I might go with the Tone Zone - Breed option!

Nice clip and congrats on your new Pro Mod. I'd def go 250K. I think there are only a few applications where a 500K pot would be beneficial. I like the Duncan Custom Custom. It is an Alnico II with a 14.8 K output so hot but not over the top hot. Their trembucker version of course.

Not sure how that compares to what you have now but I'm thinking the Full Shred will be even brighter.

Thx a lot! So the 250 pot is a must... I'll record sth quick like an AB test between my san dimas and the kramer which has the breed...

Yeah I don’t know what Charvel is thinking putting these hot bright ceramic pickups in alder guitars with maple boards. Makes no sense. My 2016 SoCal came with Duncan Distortions and it sounded terrible. JB or similar is the way to go. I have Holydivers.
Earliest Charvels came with Dimarzio Super Distortions but they are awesome in super strats and even though ceramic they are not overly bright.

I know right? All my clips sounds like crap compared to my kramer!

Lovely paint job!
I really dig Charvels neck too!
Yeah the paint job is to die for! The only thing I don't like is how bright and not hot enough the bridge sh 10 sounds... I might end up swapping it with a dimarzio distortion... Any other suggestions?

Just joined the Charvel DK24 club... color attracted me right away (Chlorine Burst) but when I felt the neck it was all over. lol Basically a silky feeling roasted maple neck (and fingerboard).

Pickups are Full Shred (SH-10B) and Alnico II Pro (APH-1N) (these come standard). There's a parallel/series switch which gives some cool voicing options.

Nice axe! I sold mine 2 months ago, as I found a killer deal on a 1989 Charvel Custom 650 Xl. Having said that, the DK24 was well built and a killer guitar for the price. I couldn't stand the Full Shred pickup though... Really bright sounding for my liking

Just checked out the clip, sounds good and congrats on the new guitar!

I’ll see how I like the Full Shred in the long run. May swap it out for a JB or something if doesn’t work out.

Cheers

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice pickup but not for me. The guy I sold the guitar to, really likes it!
