I've been gassing for another Charvel for the past two years since I sold my Style 2 San Dimas. I lucked up and found this on the SD forum!

Great shape and no scratches or dents on the body! Only flaw I found was a finish crack near the neck pocket, which he too me about. No big deal on that cause a many of them have them. Tremelno installed along with a SD Parallel Axis/Crazy 8 pickups. A little cleaning and it'll be awesomeness! I've already installed a DTuna, 42mm big brass block, and cleaned it up real nice. I am probably gonna just put a trem stopper in there for the Dtuna because the tremelno just feels weird.

Now that I have played the Parallel Axis style pickups, I am just about set on swapping them out for something more organic and hot rod voiced towards the 80's rock. I think I am gonna go with the tried and true SD 59/JB setup, but are there any other suggestions I should look for(i know I am beating a dead horse here). Ill be playing through a Mesa Stiletto and a Mesa Roadster with EL34's.

Sexy as fuck! I have the Pagan Gold version of that guitar but always wanted the Tangerine! \m/

What don't you like about those p/ups? I've always fancied some of those for my LP. They look pretty cool too! Killer guitar as well, love the colour.

My buddy has one of those with a under-wound MCP Afwayu in it and it is one of the best sounding guitars I've heard. It was what Wade suggested for the guitar.

Happy NGD!

I used to like the JB too, until I got my So-Cal. The Tone Zone that came stock is awesome in these guitars for all things 80's. I'll probably change the Evo in the neck but the TZ bridge pickup is a keeper. Also like the TZ over the Super Distorion, which is a little too hot for my tastes.

They are a bit to "HiFi" for my taste. I'm really looking for a pup combination that brings out the guitar. I'm not opposed to s/h or ssh for that matter. I'm wanting a full body bridge pickup that has a nice bottom end without flubbing out, pronounced mids that will cut and a nice treble end that doesn't get too fizzy. As for the neck, it would have to sound good on clean tones and rhythm.

And thanks for the compliments folks. I got this guitar for a steal of a price and it needed a bit of TLC but it came together right nicely!

Reverse this for me. I pulled the TZ in my SoCal in favor of a JB.

The JB/59 sound fantastic in my White San Dimas body type 1....never bothered to change those.

I still have whatever stock pickups are in the Pagan SoCal....I don't like the sound as much as the San Dimas.

Looks awesome!

I would go lower output, especially with a Mesa amp. Tone Zone, Duncan Custom, Custom 5, even the 59-Custom Hybrid for the bridge. And any PAF type for the neck.
