Well I picked up a brand new Charvel So Cal (MIJ) via some trades and I am very impressed. The workmanship is outstanding for a production guitar. This guitar plays and sounds awesome IMO. I had the DiMarzio's yanked and had the MCP Angel Dust A2 matching set installed before I even laid my hands on it. The guitar sounds awesome with these pickups and has that EVH 1984 vibe; not that I can play like EVH. I also added a Floyd Brass Big Block. Well I am glad I picked this up and it is a keeper for sure. This will hold me over until I get my Luxxtone.

Looks cool. How do you like the trem?

The trem is fine. It it not floating anymore because of the Big Block.

Congrats, great Guitar.

I will make mine a HSS with an AD at the bridge.

I thought about this. Maybe in the near future. Need to find a pick guard that would fit and decide on some good single coil pickups. Right know the MCP Angel Dust neck works fine and I can get some good clean tones with the volume rolled down.

From what I have read so far Warmoth will do the job as long as you do not order pre-drilled volume/tone holes.

From my experience with the Angel Dust I would give MCP a try for the single coils as well, but so far I was not able to gather much information on those.

yes, I would have to have someone pre-drill those!! Well I am am a humbucker guy. Suhr makes great SCs and does Fralin. I do not not know how Wades SCs sound, but I have MCPs in most of my guitars!!! I am sure they are great!!!

I ordered one from warmouth, pre drilled for tones and volume and fit my SoCal fine.
