I know it's not that high end; but I've been wanting one of these for a few years, and every time one came up I was too late or couldn't come up with extra scratch. This one popped up last week on GC used and I was able to sell my Laney and a backup guitar and snagged it.
About to put a set of painkillers in it and have black knobs and pickup rings to replace the cream and Amber. Won't have a chance to actually plug it into the Marshall til Monday, but it rings big acoustically, and plays straight. Pretty stoked.

I changed the knobs and pup rings as well as the switch tip and put a set of bareknuckle painkillers in it. I won't get a chance to run it through the Marshall til Monday but it was roaring in my bias app. Guitar is super resonate and has a natural chunk to it.
May not be everyone's thing, but I think it looks better this way. Might even get black hardware next year if I get bored. (Or still have it lol)

Looks great man and will sound bad ass with the bare knuckles. Congrats!

Looks great! Congrats! I've always like those just wish the bodies weren't smaller size than regular Gibson Explorers.

Thanks man. I really like the pros because they're smaller and don't have a pickguard. And they're kinda unique. Same with my studio lites.

I've always wanted one of those. I love the smaller body, binding, and no pickguard. Looks awesome!

Me too man. I will get an '84 as well one day.

Looks nice man! The PKs should scream in that thing.

The '84 is the holy grail  If you're lucky enough to find a white one that hasn't faded to that piss yellow color, at least. Not a fan of "vintage white" personally.

Could always go the ESP MX-250 route, but those aren't any cheaper.

I'd love an Explorer Pro based off the white '84. Binding and the smaller body

That looks like a great guitar to play anything from Def Leppard's "Pyromania" on. :) Has a similar vibe to the Ibanez Phil Collen was using during that period.

Love the binding! Just got a HP Flying V. It is the same size as the others. It has binding as well.

Nice! I've been looking for one for awhile. Don't like the cream pup rings and switch tip etc....I already bought the black parts to replace them and the knobs when I change the pickups out. I'll post pics of the makeover soon.

I had one of the ones that was trans black over flamed maple with block MOP inlays . they are killer guitars . wish I still had mine

Congrats
