Haven't seen too many of these out in the wild yet, so I figured I'd throw it up.

Pics:

Started out searching for an older hard tail Strat, then newer ones, then found the JR Strat and then this. It was over. I held out about 6 hrs before I caved. Neck is fatter than the Strats I've had and I dig that. Schaller locking tuners and strap locks, Fender hard tail bridge, brushed chrome EMGs which sound fat as fuck in this guitar. About 9 1/2 lbs. Solid mahogany body and ebony board with jumbos. Fretwork is great. I dig the 70s headstock too. REALLY comfortable to play sitting or standing.

Been slamming it for a couple of hours....stays in tune great and it's really easy to play. I'm impressed...Root really knows how to spec out a minimalist instrument that plays and sounds great. The Strat might have to be next.

Very nice... One of the few guitars I'm gassing for right now. Congrats man!

Awesome, I hope to get one of these soon! How was the fretwork?

Fretwork is beautiful man. Really impressed with the Fenders I've gotten recently. Seems like I either got good ones or they're stepping up their game.

That thing just bleeds BAD ASS!! HNGD !

Dude, solid mahogany. Even with the EMGs, dooms for days. Love it.

Mahogany... Rosewood FB... Humbuckers... That might be a fender I can actually enjoy. :D

Jim Root: Take EMGs and stick them into every Fender (black painted) body design out there

Can't wait for my Jim Root Jaguar Signature

The timing of this thread is funny because I was just looking at the Root Strat last night.

They definitely look like cool instruments, although I wish Fender would make more models that are similar that are not artist priced. Heck, a H/H Hardtail US Strat would go a long way!

THIS ^

The world would be a much better place with more hardtails and humbuckers in Fender Strats.

Agreed; about to finish my next project. I dig filling the back of Strats and throwing Hipshot bridges on em. Really comfortable guitars and those bridges just work. I'll post it here when I'm done.

Thanks guys!

I absolutely love the Jim Root guitars..>BUT I can't play them.

Have been playing gibson style stop tail pieces/bridges for a long time and the bridges on the Jim Roots Fack me up.

I spend all my time fiddling with my right hand placement and my palm mutes (which are a big part of my style) don't sound right.

Old dogs and new tricks I guess :(

Congrats Dude! I wish I could play them....have owned several of the Tele's and Strats.

Very cool guitar. Perfect number of knobs and pickups. 25.5" scale(aren't most Jazzmasters 24"?) and big headstock. Mahogany body, ebony board is cool although I personally have no preference. I bet that would look killer in gloss black too.
