Picked this up for $320 NEW due to having a pinhead-sized paint blemish near the input jack. I saw it on eBay and being a Cantrell nut I couldn't resist.

I will probably get a minor fret job done, since the 12th and 13th frets are a bit low. Too be expected for an import model, no big deal. Sounds fantastic too and heavy as Hell!

Those guitars look cool as shit. Jerry Cantrell has always been a huge influence on me. Facelift and Dirt are timeless.

This is actually my first maple-bodied guitar and I LOVE it!!

Wow, nice price! I always thought it'd be cool to pick up one of those one day. +1 on the Cantrell comments....great player/songwriter! Congrats!

Sick dude...LOVE those guitars, and that's a killer price! HNCGD!

Looking forward to some great riffs out of this...

I had a pair of these. Amazing guitars - and not just "for the money"... HNGD

G&L stuff is super nice!I don't have the import, but I know talking to Jerry he actually uses a few in the studio and tours so that's nice to know he actually uses his. I tried to hate mine, and it was not a love at first site thing but after I set it up a bit more, it played really really good, and has a distinct sound all its own. The only other guitar I could compare it to was the old ESP kamikaze's which were of the same woods also. I do know that what ever model you buy or have, American or import, you have to tighten the Brass Saddle wheels on the Kahlers no matter what to keep the strings from micro slips while playing. From the factory, they slide up and down because of slop off the saddle that holds the brass wheel and pin and they should be tightened immediately for tuning stability. I've worked on at least 10 including my own this yrs- On a positive these guitars have Insane bell tones with really rich character! One of my favorite strat style guitars now. I hope this info finds itself useful.
Peace, Wade- MCP

snakes alive!!

Well, I heard the indonesian and korean ones were nice but now they are being made in china (the import one ofcourse) .. Did any of you played or bought the 2014 and ahead models?

thanks!!

Wow, nice price! The picture isn't loading for me, but as a huge JC fan I know what it looks like. I'd like to have one of these. I am in need of a more traditional strat style guitar, but I don't want to get a standard Fender Strat. Maybe I'll check these out again.

HNGD!

Good score. I found one online at Guitar Center at a "could not turn down" price. Had it shipped to my GC and was very pleasantly surprised.

Has anybody played both the Rampage and Superhawk? Besides the obvious locking nut, trem and pickup differences are there any significant differences between the two as far as sound and feel? I've had a Superhawk for a while and am sort of wanting a Rampage but I'm a few hours away from a decent music store to try one in person.

I heard the only difference was the added neck pickup but is basically the same. They should sound very similar.

I've been thinking about getting one of these G&L's?? but I haven't heard enough reviews about them. Other than that little problem you had (original post) how are the frets otherwise?? are they jumbo's or just medium gibson or strat style. I'm getting so used to stainless steel xj's these days... i hate how fast smaller regular frets wear down.

It's a pure meat and potatos kinda guitar... and I like that. Bridge pickup and a volume control... that's all I ever need in a guitar.

You guys realize that this thread is 3 years old???
