Bought a new geetar today, (after a 5 year drought).
A '57 goldtop R7 reissue. Got it for a good price , so I had to jump on this one.
Great guitar, very resonant and punchy.
darker sounding them my other customs but sounds amazing nonetheless.
Most importantly the neck feels so damn good!
Nice and beefy.

Absolutely amazing guitars! Congrats on a goldie. i Love my Gold top! it gets played at least once a day everyday , neck to die for!
I put a set of cream sheptone tributes in mine. killer tone, mine is is on the bright sounding side which i like because it is also still really fat? may be the sheptone tributes causing that?

Thanks for the kind words guys. :)
Always wanted a gold top but never thought id land on a R7.
Its really light for being a non weight relieved.
Id say in the 8lb range.

My other customs feel like boat anchors in comparison.

congratzzz, Ive had an R57 for 5 years and its my favorite neck by far, im always shocked Gibson doesn't offer it on other guitars.

-how can you not love a R7 GOLD TOP!!

-mine's gonna have all black hardware thou-

-rock that bitch!!

Wow, looks exactly like my R7 goldtop. I wasn't really wanting a goldtop when I bought mine but that neck... I love that baseball bat sized neck! Grats man!

Congratulations! I have a 2009 R7 Goldtop I bought around $2k USD and installed a set of Duncan Antiquities. I have a BB7 as well, I'm not really a big fan of the color of gold but the deal was too good to pass up. The guitar is tough to put down once you pick it up, nice fat 57 neck profile and tone for days.

Thanks fellas!
I'm gonna hang on to this one for a long, long time.
One of the best Gibsons I've played for sure.
Cant get over how great the neck feels.

Thinking about throwing grovers on there though.
Really not used to the super short tuner posts that these come with.
