NGD...I think I'm getting old

I've wanted a butterscotch Tele for well over two decades. I always loved the way that they sounded, I loved the way that they looked...but I never really found one that I bonded with. I tend to like guitars with a more modern fretboard radius, and while I've played a ton of cool Telecasters over the years, I never really found 'the one'.

I've really been digging Suhr guitars lately, and since my Classic S has one of my favorite necks of any guitar I've ever played, I decided that it was time and tracked down a Suhr Classic T Antique with a roasted maple neck. It's everything that I've ever wanted in a T style guitar. It plays great, sounds awesome, and while it does the traditional Tele thing...you can totally rock with it too.

One of my regrets was parting with the Suhr modern in my avatar. Now a father of two, I can't see myself ever being able to afford another of that spec/price.
I was so happy once I made a few trades & ended up with my Suhr T. Just a really playable, spanky & percussive guitar. No way near the features of the modern & largely a completely different guitar, but it kinda has a mojo about it that the modern didn't have I think. Really simple, sounds amazing & stays in tune.
I'd really like an HSS Suhr Strat to go with it.

I am old but I have had a cheap ass Tele (Squier) for 20 years and always considered getting a good version of it....they just have a great sound and I think the T offers something unique. Congrats!

Great Suhr guitar collection with not a single Floyd Rose bridge in sight! J/K! Your Suhr T guitar is reliced quite a bit. Did you ask to have that done or did the previous owner do that?

Yeah! This can work on a number of levels. I haven't gained 20lbs...I've just gotten smarter about what I want to eat!

Offset with a tune-o-matic

It's a cool one. It came loaded with SSV's and a volume/tone/tone setup, but I currently have it loaded with an Aldrich set and a custom pickguard. It now has a single volume and single tone control, and they're push/push series/parallel switches. It can cover a lot of tones.

Ha! Yeah, I'm not a Floyd guy at all. I actually blocked the trems on the Modern and Classic S. I'm just too heavy handed. Plus, whenever I have a guitar with a functioning trem, I never end up actually playing guitar. I just end up making goofy whale sounds and don't get anything done

The Classic S, JM and Modern I bought new, but I picked up the Classic T used. After getting the Modern I'm hooked on roasted maple necks, so snagged the T from a run of Classic Antiques they did a few years back that came standard with roasted necks. If I was ordering a custom I wouldn't have gone with any relicing, but it doesn't bother me either. If anything I can just relax and enjoy it. I took a good chip out of the Modern (also an Antique) right after I got it...and for a second my heart sank. Then I just looked at the other wear already on it, laughed, and went on about my day. I don't get bent out of shape about dings/bumps...but the first one on a new guitar always stings a little. This one showed up ready to go.
