I finally got myself a J Custom, and let me say, this guitar is amazing!!!!! first off, there is not even the slightest hint of a scratch, dent, nick, pick or belt buckle rash, or any sort of wear. the guy I got it from said he might have put between 3 and 5 hours on it ever. I believe him. it looks brand new, it is easily 10/10 condition. So far it sounds and plays fantastic, but I have got to change the strings. he never changed the strings so it has had the same strings on it for a handful of years. here are some pics!!! noooooooooooo!!!! it says the board has reached its picture quota??? wtf is that non sense!!! well, until I can get pics up, it has a beautiful blue flamed maple top!!

At long last welcome to the club! That was a pretty nice find too, price and condition. When in doubt, there's always Photobucket.

Yeah, too bad there's not ToL inlays.  :D

I have also got to admit that I actually like the tone zone in this guitar! I have not liked the tone zone at all in the past but works and sounds great in this!

It looks pristine. What's the neck pup?

the neck pup is an air Norton and it sounds good, would not change a thing on this guitar. it is magnificent. it sounds really good, and the playability is out of this world!! yes, it is pristine, it is DEAD MINT, not even a tiny pick scratch anywhere! iut is like a brand new guitar, the guy I got it from is a collector he said and only played it a few hours and it shows.

a couple months later, and I am still having a blast playing this guitar!! it plays with such ease, leads are real fun. plus, it sounds great, could not be happier. it is as good as any super strat guitar I have owned including suhr, Anderson, charvel or luxxtone. the build quality is as good as the makers I mentioned. but, no Ibanez I have played comes close to the j customs. the other models they have are a big step down, atr least the ones I have played, actually I played a satriani that felt great, but those must be made by their higher end division.

Congrats! I have a J-Custom that's probably from the same era (2005?), and it is an awesome guitar. I've had a chance to play a fair number of MIJ Ibanez guitars lately. Both pre-Prestige and the Prestige-labeled ones. The J-Custom feels "smoother" and more comfy some how, but really every MIJ Ibanez that I've had has been a monster player. Other than the J-Custom, the most impressive Ibanez I've had is an early '90s Universe. Really a spectacular guitar. I don't know if it's just that particular guitar, if Ibanez took extra care making the UVs at that time because of how unique they were, or if Ibanez in general just made better guitars back then, but this old UV is at least the equal to the J-Custom to me.

Congrats on the new guitar! You've got fine taste. As sexy as the J.Custom is, that Suhr in your bucket is absolutely fuckin gorgeous!! Damn. That one just speaks to me lol.
