I've had gas SO BAD for this thing! Just arrived today. Set it up, plays fantastic. Seems warmer than my other Jems, don't know if it's the mahogany or the new pickups but it's a kick ass guitar!! Could not be happier!!! It's a shitty photo from my phone but here it is.

After playing this guitar, it's very different from the other Jems. The pickups are very open, very airy if that makes sense. They must be quiet a bit lower output then the Evolutions. I only have a couple hours playing on it but digging it so far a lot!

That is very cold here. I have owned a handful of Jem's but I always thought the evolutions were a bit too hot. To be honest, I never really liked the look of this but from what I'm seeing in your picture, I like it a lot more now. Maybe I should look into one.

How different is the neck? I have an FP and an FP2, but I've been thinking about one of these.

Thats hard to say because I've been playing my Charvels, this neck feels a little wider than the Charvels.

Was searching for info on this and found the thread. Now that you've had it a little while, what are your thoughts?

I've never had, but always wanted a JEM and I really like this one. There's only a couple, but the youtube reviews look and sound great. Every time I start to think I'm going to pull the trigger on one, I fall back into thinking it's a Premium model made in Indonesia. I know that's just my own mental thing, but I feel like if I'm going to drop $1600, I might as well go on and pay more and get a different jem made in Japan. But I do like this look and it looks like it plays great.

Ive played it through a few different amps now. I LOVE this guitar. The pickups are incredible, 9.4 which is lower than the Evolutions. It stays in tune perfectly. Frets are great no sharp edges. For me I really dont care where the guitar is made as long as its made right. They hit this one out of the park!!!!

I understand about not caring where it's made as long as it's nice. I feel that way too, but just something about buying a JEM made in not-Japan. I'm sure I'm going to get one sooner or later, maybe after bonus time coming up...unless NAMM changes that.
