There has always been debate over Caparison vs Ibanez J Custom models and which are "better". Well I have to say that my initial impression is the J Custom might be in the lead. The fit and finish is unparalleled, attention to detail is insane, and it just feels great. It has a slimmer neck than the Caparisons do and I think it is also a little bit wider.

This is an RRG5 White Sands model, 1 of only 6. Enjoy

Cool fiddle, Bro.

I'm surprised though.. being from Austin and having the guitars you have... Arent the Fender-geeks giving you shit for being a metalhead?

Yeah, one of my best friends is all about Closet Classic Strats, Esquires, low wattage amps, etc so I get crap for having a few half stacks and such. At least I have a nice Tele and decent Strat so I can fit in if I have to

That's a beautiful guitar. Would love to have one of those... Congrats

Thanks guys. I think this is my new #1. Now I just need to get another one that isn't quite as rare because I don't want to gig with this one

So nice man,
looks so classy.
Having owned a few J-customs I can safely say "production" guitars don't get any better

Rupe, what guitar is that in your avatar? A custom model of some sort?

It's a prototype of what became the Rand guitar back in the 80's (best hard rock/metal guitars that I've ever played hands down...this proto is a bit "rough" when compared to the production models). This particular one you've probably seen before:

Was it Viv's?

I always thought he was a Buddy Blaze guy in those days...

I guess gear whores are gear whores though.

Yeah, it was Viv's. He was playing two Rands and a Buddy Blaze in Whitesnake before his Kramer endorsement. The other Rand can be seen in the "Still of the Night" video and now is owne by Hard Rock Cafe. He has a third that he still owns thats painted with the Irish flag but it was never used live or in any videos.

sweet. I'm a huge Viv fan.

I wish the world would have been hip to how cool the Riverdogs disc was.

I'll go to my grave saying they invented the "unplugged" movement... only better since those acoustic layers set Viv up for some SERIOUS RIPPING.

LOVE Viv.
