Been waiting months for a Dominion pro. Jackson has moved the production from Mexico (caus they can't do neck thrus in Mexico) to Indonesia. LOL @ that one. So the PRO and the DX2 are now MII.

I love my MIJ dominion and figured I'd try out the DX2 while I wait another year for my pro. Few mods on it, Ebonized FB, tuners. Great guitar. Only thing I miss is the coil taps, which I could probably do if I wasn't a retard. Been pimpin this on a couple other forums. I'm just beside myself at the fit and finish. A+ on this one. Once in a while you get lucky.

Looks great! What kind of guitar would you compare it to?

Well the old school burst is mahogany with the maple top. It's heavy. The guitar, with the scale length is like a Les Paul. The feel is the same, but it's more comfortable of a guitar to sit with. I just like the look and feel of the thing and with the Old school Burst in Mahog with the coil taps (pictured with the cat), I can play blues type stuff, which is cool. The DX2 in the Trans Black is Nato with a figured top. It's a tad lighter and has the Mark Morton Dimarzio dominion pickups. The other one has the SD 59's

Very cool.
I'm not sure why, but I really dig those!
Congrats!

The fretboard is rosewood, which I don't really care for. So I wanted to darken it, like ebony. It's got a fair bit darker than it was stock, but does not look like ebony. Just dark rosewood. I used small artist brushes to paint it on the fretboard 3x. The reason I used small brushes was to not get the dye all over the binding. However the dye does come off the binding with magic eraser.

After each coat, I would wipe dry with a paper towel, then I used lemon oil to rub the shit in. I put quite a bit of elbow grease into this process. Then I repeated 2x. The lemon oil helps the dye sink into the wood (rosewood in this case) and the reason for all this is to not get the dye on your fingers later on. Final buff with a lint free cloth and you're good to go.

Yes, he's a seal point. About 8 months old. It's my daughters cat. She's 7 and always wanted a kitten. We have 2 older seal point males. Each one has his own personality. This one is awesome. He's very intelligent and always in a good mood ready to rock and roll. He drives me nuts at night, I'll be sitting right in front of my Mark V amp thrashing away and he's right there rubbing up against me and finally plops down right in front of the speaker. I shit you not. He particularly loves Lamb of God and Exodus riffs.

My other cat does the same thing. Right in front of the damn cab. Plops down and give no fuck whatsoever at the level of volume coming out of the amp. But each night they're down there.

BTW, those are inlay stickers. Also, the FB is darker now as in that pic, I fucked up the alignment of the stickers as I put them on at 1am drunk. So I ordered a new set and put a couple more coats of dye on it and new stickers, aligned properly. Stock, the thing has lame pearl dots. I would have preferred no inlays rather than stupid pearl dots.

coolness!

BTW I have a lilac point and he has the same personality you describe. Always up for anything, plays fetch like a champ!

Good job on the dye. I think it looks good darkened too.
