Heres the finished product guys, ken did a great job on the guitar and it sounds amazing, i never thought it could sound better than my black KL but to my ears it does, the specs are different and theres definately a change in tone, both of my explorers are awsome and i couldnt be more happy with them.
I named my black kl Darth vader and this one shall be Darth maul.
specs:
the body is honduran mahogany,
indian rosewood fretboard,
emg 60 and 81,
top wood is oliva ash burl in trans blood red with gloss finish,
the neckshape is the same as hetfield has on his explorers,
mother of pearl KL logo,
ebony binding on neck,
the pickup rings ken made out of ebony
knobs are made from water buffalo horn.
heres some new pics for ya, they arent the best pics to really capture this guitar but i will try and get some better ones using my wifes camera soon. the color is hard to capture because with a flash it makes the guitar look brighter red than it really is and with no flash it looks darker than it is inperson.
