Picked up this GH50L from the Guitar Center used site. I had purchased a new Ibanez but I wasn't getting along with it so before I went in to return it, I found this on the website. Being a really big Opeth fan, I picked it right up
When I got to the store and plugged it in, I was really underwhelmed. I was super disappointed in the tone and the gain on tap. I was trying to figure out how Mikael could get that tone with the same amp
I took a look at the back and noticed the effects return volume and it hit me that I could dummy up the loop, back the volume off on the back and then crank the front...and WOW the tone is AMAZING! Clear, punchy and articulate. Exactly what I was looking for!
My question to you experts is this; will this burn out my amp? I did this with my Splawn Nitro (using the loop volume) and got equally amazing results, but unbeknownst to me, I did damage to the loop board. I've attached a picture below of exactly what I'm doing with the loop.
Anyways, pictures! And I'm a happy man. And Lars and James approve
